This assignment was the final project of my Vector Graphics class in my second semester of the D3 program at BCIT.
The job was to create an infographic on any topic we so choose. I decided to go with a topic I am already fairly familiar with, Marvel Comics. The project required creating a visual layout, creating graphics, and incorporating text and photographs.
The exact specifications for this project were that it had a good sense of visual hierarchy, an attractive colour scheme, and included the following: vector graphics created in Illustrator, well-aligned text, and the inclusion of a single photograph.
Layout Design
The first step was deciding on the layout of the infographic. Creating a layout that would fit all of the content I had planned without being too cluttered or unorganized. I decided to go with a streamlined design where each character had one of six columns with minimal text on each subject.
Research
Although I am already familiar with the topic, I still researched and cited various resources to ensure accurate facts.
Creating Graphics
All of the icons found in the infographic were created freehand in Illustrator. Using the pen tool as the base and tools such as pathfinder or offset path to enhance the details and shapes.
